Senior forward DaQuenna Moore (Plantersville, S.C.) played a key role in a pair of victories for No. 22 Clayton State this past week. In moving the club to 14-1 overall and 8-0 in the Peach Belt Conference, she averaged 11.5 points, 13.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals in only 25.5 minutes per game.
Facing a 13-win Georgia College (1/13) team, she put up nine points, and hauled in 12 rebounds - four offensive - to go along with three assists and a steal in 26 minutes. That performance was key in the Lakers notching a 52-48 victory against a Divisional opponent.
On the road at Flagler (1/16), Clayton State withstood a tremendous effort from the Saints and would need a strong performance from Moore. That wouldn't be a problem as she came up with a massive double-double of 14 points (on 7-of-12 shooting) and 14 boards - six on the offensive glass. Moore also added an assist and steal in 25 minutes. That would play a large role in the Lakers 70-58 victory.
On the season she is averaging 11.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.1 assists while shooting .533 from the field.
