Junior guard Alfonso Davis (Bronx, N.Y.) delivered one of the most impressive two game stretches in program history this past week in splitting a pair of games. Over the course of those games he averaged an incredible 25.0 points, 17.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals, all while shooting .571 (20-of-35) from the field and .833 (10-of-12) from the foul line.
Against Georgia College (1/13) he produced 28 points, 19 rebounds, four blocks, four assists and a pair of steals in 34 minutes. With that performance he accomplished something only three individuals had in the program's 26-year history as he tied the program's single game rebound record - a mark not equaled since 1997.
Davis would not have a let down in his next game at Flagler (1/16). In that game he scored 22 points on 10-of-18 shooting, grabbed another 15 rebounds, blocked five shots and dished out four assists. That performance in 37 minutes of action helped the Lakers come from behind in the second half to claim an 87-73 victory.
On the season, he is now averaging 14.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 assists while shooting .559 from the field and .711 from the foul line.
