Redshirt-junior center Andrea Benford (Madison, Ga.) posted an impressive all-around week that helped lead Clayton State to a pair of wins in the 2015 Heritage Bank Classic. On the week she averaged 7.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 3.0 steals and 2.0 assists in just 22.5 minutes per game.
She opened the week against Chowan (12/4) and did it all. In 26 minutes she produced a line of 13 points (5-of-10), five rebounds, four steals, three assists and four blocks. That helped the Lakers to a 77-50 victory over the team that upset them in the Classic a year ago.
In the finale, Benford's shot was not falling as she managed just two points. Realizing that, she did everything else to help her team to an 83-68 victory over Livingstone (12/5). She ripped down 11 boards and had two steals, another block and an assist in only 19 minutes of action.
