Senior forward Takija Knight (Crawfordville, Fla.) posted an extremely impressive week as he averaged 16.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals while shooting .636 from the field in a pair of victories.
He opened the week against Carver (11/25), posting 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting and hauling in six rebounds along with a steal and a pair of blocks in 24 minutes of action. That was only a precursor to what was to come in the week's finale at Saint Leo (11/29).
Facing a 5-1 team coached by the architect of USC-Aiken's recent NCAA Division II Final Four run, Knight posted perhaps the best game of his career. In 29 minutes, he delivered 19 points, 15 rebounds, three steals and a pair of blocks. He also went 9-of-15 from the field and ripped down six offensive rebounds.
That performance helped lead Clayton State to an impressive 76-63 victory, which was not as close as the final score would indicate.
