Senior guard Taneria Wilson (Fort Pierce, Fla.) had a week for the ages as she averaged 27.0 points, 8.0 steals, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting .541 (20-of-37) from the field and 6-of-14 (.429) beyond the arc.
Â
She opened the week at Georgia Southwestern (1/15) by scoring 20 points to go with six steals, four rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes. That performance led the Lakers to a 73-62 victory.
Â
Wilson would perform at a near record level in the week's finale at Francis Marion (1/18). In 44 minutes she would drop 34 points on 12-of-19 shooting (4-of-7 from three-point range) and come away with a program record tying 10 steals to go with four assists and five rebounds.
Â
The 10 steals equaled the team record set during the 1998-99 season while her 34 points was just one shy of matching the program record of 35 points from 2005.
Â
On the year she is now averaging 15.8 points, 3.8 steals, 3.7 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 15 games and starts. She is currently leading the Peach Belt Conference in steals per game and is fourth in both points per game and assists per game.
