For senior defender Jordan Knight (Javea, Spain), it was another 180 minutes and another two impressive performances this past week.
Â
In a showdown at No. 21 Lander (11/6) it would be only a 79th minute goal on a solid play from the left wing that would blemish an otherwise masterful 90 minute effort. While a loss is never satisfying, It would be just the fifth time all season that the Bearcats, a team regularly in the national rankings, were held to one goal or fewer.
Â
Knight would close the week with another impressive effort, this time in a 3-1 win over USC Aiken (11/9) that locked up the No. 3 seed in the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Tournament. In that one he would log another 90 minutes as the only goal allowed would come on a scrum in front of the net.
Â
This season he has played in all 18 games, registering 1,582 minutes which is good for second on the team. His effort and availability have helped lead Clayton State to a 13-5 overall record, equaling the fourth most wins in the program's 28 history.
