Sophomore defensive midfielder Chiara Rosener (Minden, Germany) didn't leave the field while anchoring a defense that allowed three goals over the course of a pair of games and notched its first shutout of the season.
 
She would play the first of two 90 minute games against USC Aiken (10/16) as she and her defense allowed just six shots, two on net and no scores for their first clean sheet of 2019.
 
Rosener followed with her second 90 minute outing, this one against a very good UNC Pembroke (10/20) team. She anchored a defensive effort that allowed three goals but with two that are not all that common. They would surrender a score in the first 51 seconds on a loose ball in front of the net and then settle in for the next 73-plus minutes after tying it up at 1-1.
 
The go-ahead goal would come from just inside of the midfield stripe and hit the sweet spot just over the keeper's outstretched hands, making it a play that most defenses would be hard pressed to expect to cover.
