Senior defender Jordan Knight (Javea, Spain) anchored a lock down defense once again as he played all 180 minutes of a pair of wins while allowing just one goal during that stretch. Overall he spearheaded a defense that scattered 24 shots, including only seven on net.
Â
He opened the week at a seven win Emmanuel (10/16) squad and proceeded to allow just two shots on goal out of nine total. That performance was key to the Lakers 1-0 victory, their league leading seventh shutout of the season, and their eighth overall win.
Â
Returning to conference play just four days later Knight would be instrumental in keeping Clayton State undefeated in PBC play and securing their spot in a five-way tie for first place. He would play 90 minutes in a 2-1 victory at Flagler (10/20) and aid the cause offensively as he added his second career assist, both of which have come this season.
Â
On the year his defense has surrendered only seven goals in 12 games and he has rarely left the the field for a minute of it. Clayton State is tied for the most points in the PBC with six but is the only undefeated remaining in conference play, due in large part to Knight and his defense.
