Freshman Javier Gonzalez (San Jose del Cabo) led a superb effort by Clayton State at the 10th Annual Bearcat Classic (3/25-26).
 
Facing a massive 22-team field that included 110 golfers and a pair of nationally ranked programs, the newcomer played like a veteran as he delivered a third place finish with rounds of 71-69-72 for a total of 212. That was just four strokes off the pace of the eventual champion.

Clayton State finished an impressive 2-of-22 at the 10th Annual Bearcat Classic (3/25-26), topping one nationally ranked program in No. 7 Young Harris and finishing just four strokes behind No. 11 Lincoln Memorial.
