Senior T.J. Witherspoon (Thomasville, Ga.) posted a strong month between the close of the cross country season and the beginning of indoor track & field.

Competing at the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Championships (11/3) he led the Lakers with a 29-of-72 finish behind a time of 26:46.80. He followed that up with an 81-of-151 outing and time of 35:27.94 at the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Championships (11/17), also a team best.

Just two weeks later Witherspoon excelled at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker (11/30), finishing 1-of-28 in the 800-meters with a personal best time of 1:55.51. Along with junior Chris Florence (Newnan, Ga.) and freshmen Janei Sewell (Newnan, Ga.) and Churchill Ezeokonkwo (Riverdale, Ga.) was part of a 4x400-meter relay (3:23.40) that finished 3-of-20.
