Junior Evan Ortiz (McDonough, Ga.) delivered the best performance of his young career as he finished 2-of-24 at the UWG Wolves XC Season Opener (8/31).
 
Running a 7k for the first time in his career, Ortiz notched a time of 25:14.25 to post a runner-up finish and lead the Lakers to a second place finish as a team.
