Sophomore Nia Elmore (Hinesville, Ga.) delivered a pair of record setting performances at the BSC Panther Indoor Icebreaker on Friday, December 1. She opened in the 60-meters, where she posted a time of 7.96 to surpass the previous mark of 8.04 set more than a decade ago by Jon Taylor during the 2006 campaign. That performance would earn her a 21-of-48 finish in the event.
She would continue the assault on Taylor's records later in the day, this time in the 200-meters. Facing a field that included competitors from Division I schools like Georgia Tech, Troy and Tulane, Elmore ran a 25.96 to better Taylor's 2006 mark by two one-hundredths (25.98) and have the sixth highest finish by a non-DI student-athlete. Overall she finished 19-of-52.
