Junior Carla Catala Martin (Barcelona, Spain) accomplished something not seen in nearly a decade as Clayton State women's cross country earned a runner-up finish at the 14th Annual Cougar Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 23.

With her time of 18:42.46 she not only earned a 2-of-95 finish and shattered her own personal best of 19:25.10, she ran the 21st fastest time in program history.

That effort led to a 2-of-12 team finish and was the fastest 5k time by a Laker since Clayton State Hall of Famer Allison Kreutzer in 2008.
