Redshirt-senior goalkeeper Oliver Pannell (Nottingham, England) notched a pair of strong games to open the season this past week. Over the course of those contests he posted a 1.50 goals against average, .769 save percentage, allowed just three goals and made 10 saves in 180 minutes.
He opened 2017 at Queens (8/31) where he allowed two goals while making six saves. Pannell was dominant for all but 34 seconds when the Royals scored both goals within that span in the 71st minute. He would finish the day with a .750 save percentage in a full 90 minutes of action.
The Lakers wrapped up the week at Emmanuel (9/3), earning a 2-1 victory in their first trip to Franklin Springs, Georgia. Up 2-0 in the second half, it would take a tremendous feed that got headed past him to get EC on the board. He would make four saves and post an .800 save percentage in 90 minutes in net.
