Clayton State women place six on USTFCCCA All-Southeast Region for indoor track and field
NEW ORLEANS, La. – March 2, 2012 – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its 2012 Indoor Track and Field All-Region teams on Friday, and the Clayton State Lakers had six athletes selected All-Southeast Region.
Freshman Maia Kuhnen from Trier, Germany was the lone Laker selected for multiple events. She was honored in both the 800-meter run and the Distance Medley Relay. The other five Clayton State runners were each selected for single events.
Junior Paige Galvin (Posen, Ill.) and sophomores Samantha Walling (Galt, Calif.) and Gisele Javois (Brooklyn, N.Y.) were each selected for the Distance Medley Relay, while junior Jasmine Madison (McDonough, Ga.) was selected for the 60-meter dash. Sophomore Jhquail Richardson (Jonesboro, Ga.) was the lone Laker selected for a field event as she was honored in the long jump.
Clayton State opens the outdoor season on March 17 with the Morehouse Relays in Atlanta.
