Clayton State women’s tennis blanks Clark-Atlanta 9-0 Sunday

Morrow, GA – After dropping its season opener on Saturday, the Clayton State women's tennis team bounced back in a big way on Saturday, blanking Clark-Atlanta 9-0 at Laker Courts. 

The win evens Clayton State to 1-1 on the season, and the squad will return to action on Saturday, traveling to face Shorter in Rome, GA in a 2 p.m. match.   

Clayton State's No. 1 doubles team of Hannah Keeling/Zinnia Leamana won 8-4; while both the No. 2 team of Jessica Budd/Martina Dedaj and the No. 3 team of Charlotte Fabricius/Raluca Pavel were victorious 8-2. 

In singles, top-seeded Keeling, third-seeded Leamana and sixth seeded Fabricius blanked their opponents without losing a game. Fifth-seeded Budd won her first set 6-0 before her opponent retired. 

The closest match of the day came at No. 2 singles, as Dedaj won 7-5 in the second set after taking the first set 6-1.
