Alicia Robinson and Natalia Valentine named NSCAA All-Southeast Region

Morrow, GA --- The Clayton State women's soccer team recently had two players named among the region's best as junior Alicia Robinson and senior Natalia Valentine were named to the 2012 NSCAA/Continental Tire Women's NCAA Division II Southeast All-Region team.

Robinson, a junior from Telford, England, was named to the first team All-Region squad, while Valentine, a senior from Boksburg, South Africa was named to the second team.

"We are excited for both Alicia (Robinson) and Natalia (Valentine) to make the NSCAA regional team," said head coach Gareth O'Sullivan. "This is voted on by the coaches so it's a great honor for the program and achievement by the girls."

Joining the Lakers after an All-American junior college career, Robinson established a presence in the central midfield, linking up the offense and breaking up the attacks by opponents on a regular basis. A talented and skilled playmaker, she finished the season with three goals and two assists.

Valentine finished her Clayton State, as one of the top goal scorers in Clayton State history. She finished with 32 goals in her four-year career, ranking third all-time behind Laker greats Nkiru Okosieme and Olaitan Yusuf, both of whom were All-Americans. Valentine finished 2012 with 12 goals, ranking third in the conference.

She also ranks third all-time in points scored with 72 for her career. Valentine started every match of her four-year career, which was 70 straight matches. She ranks second all-time in games started for the Lakers. Valentine had three game-winning goals in 2012 and three multi-goal games.

Clayton State finished the season with a 10-7-2 record on the year. The 10-win season was the program's first double-digit winning season since 2006.
