Clayton State drops 1-0 heartbreaker in PBC quarterfinals to Montevallo

Montevallo, AL – The Clayton State men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker Tuesday, falling 1-0 in the final minutes to Montevallo in the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference Championships in Montevallo, AL.

Montevallo scored the game-winning goal with seven minutes remaining in the match as Pierre Omanga found the back of the nets after a pass from Patrick Dean.

The loss was a tough one for the Lakers as the squad outshot the Falcons 23-17 and had 11 shots on goal compared to only six for Montevallo. The Lakers also led the Falcons 10-4 in corner kicks. Senior keeper Matt Sutton finished with five saves.

The loss ends Clayton State's season with a 7-8-1 record on the year.
