Clayton State and North Georgia battle to scoreless tie

Dahlonega, GA – The Clayton State men's soccer team battled to a double overtime scoreless tie Wednesday against North Georgia in Dahlonega.

After 110 minutes of play, neither the Lakers nor the Saints were able to find the back of the net in the Peach Belt Conference match. The tie gives Clayton State a 4-6-1 overall record and 0-4-1 mark in the league. The Lakers will continue Peach Belt Conference on Saturday, traveling to Florence, SC to face Francis Marion.

Along with the score being deadlocked, the stats also indicated an even match, as both Clayton State and North Georgia each finished with 24 shots on the game.  Clayton State had nine corner kicks compared to six for the Saints. Laker keeper Sean Merfeld finished with nine saves.
