Laker forward Junuzovic among NCAA leaders

Morrow, GA – Clayton State sophomore forward Adu Junuzovic has started off his Laker career with a bang and his fine play ranks among the best in NCAA Division II men's soccer.

Junuzovic, a transfer from Georgia Southern, is tied for 10th in the nation with a 1.17 goals per game average after scoring seven goals in the team's first six matches this season. Junuzovic, who has scored in five of Clayton State's six games this year, opened the season with a three-goal "hat-trick" against Pfeiffer.

"Outstanding start out of the gates for Ado," said head coach Pete Petersen. "He looks great in the Orange and I think he's going to have a wonderful next three years here!  He is intense and goes north almost always.  Good speed and ups and scores in big games as well."

Along with ranking among the nation's best, Junuzovic also leads the Peach Belt in goals scored and is second in the league with 17 total points.

Clayton State, 3-3 overall and 0-1 in Peach Belt Conference will return to action on Saturday, traveling to face conference opponent UNC Pembroke. The Lakers will return home on Wednesday, September 26th, hosting another PBC foe Montevallo in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
