Clayton State to webcast home soccer matches in 2012

Morrow, GA -- AUGUST 30, 2012 – Clayton State soccer fans all over the world will be able to see their Lakers live in action on Friday.

Clayton State Athletics' LakerZone will be making its soccer debut on Friday, webcasting live from Laker Field. The Department of Athletics will broadcast Friday's second game of the Loch Shop Classic, featuring Clayton State against Pfeiffer, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

"We are so excited about the opportunity to webcast at Laker Field this year," said Gid Rowell, Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations. "We have so many former international players and soccer fans all over the country that will now be able to stay connected to the program through our webcast."

After Friday, Clayton State will webcast Saturday's second game of the Loch Shop Classic, as the Lakers will face Queens in a 7:30 p.m. contest. The first women's match to be webcast will Tuesday when the squad squares off against Tennessee Wesleyan at 4 p.m.

Former Clayton State player Roger Boniface, who is currently a graduate student at the University, will be the voice of both Laker men's and women's soccer. Current Clayton State student Brian Roberts, who has spearheaded the athletic department's video coverage over the last couple of years, will provide the technical support for the broadcast.

All 18 of the Clayton State home soccer matches will be broadcast and be accessible via the department's UStream account at http://www.ustream.tv/claytonstateathletics. Links to the webcast are also available via the Laker athletic website at www.claytonstatesports.com.
