Senior Night and Breast Cancer fundraiser planned at Wednesday soccer games
Morrow, GA – The Clayton State soccer teams will close its regular on Wednesday with Senior Night and will also be participating in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign during the contests.
Both programs will show their support for the campaign by wearing some pink at the games and ask fans in attendance to also show their support by wearing pink to the game. Raffle tickets will be sold at the contests for $5 each and a drawing will be held during halftime of each game.
Kickoff for the Peach Belt Conference games is 5 p.m. for the women’s match and 7:30 p.m. for the men’s game. The Lakers will host Peach Belt Conference newcomer Young Harris in both contests.
In addition to the fundraising effort, it will also be “Senior Night” for the fall sports at Clayton State, as the soccer and cross country programs will recognize their seniors in between games at approximately 7 p.m.
This year’s senior class for the women’s program includes Becky Brown, Kasi Cross, Haley Durham, Angie Jolly, Dior McGruder, Lorna O’Connell, Laoise O’Driscoll and Natalia Valentine. For the men’s program, there are three seniors in this year’s class in Bobby Dodd, Aziz Izmour and Matt Sutton.
Clayton State’s cross country program has two seniors this year in Paige Galvin and Ricky Fort and will also be recognized at this time.
