Clayton State Athletics to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation

MORROW, Ga. – April 10, 2012 – One of the community engagement projects endorsed by both the NCAA and the Peach Belt Conference is the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. With that in mind, Clayton State student-athletes will hold a fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish-Foundation® on Friday with a car wash from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Rocky’s Pizza on Lake Harbin Drive in Morrow, Ga.

The Clayton State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has set this year’s fundraising goal for Make-A-Wish at $1,500. To meet this objective, each Clayton State sports team is selling donation cards this week that can be redeemed at the car wash on Friday. With a minimum donation of five dollars, each individual will get both a car wash coupon and a coupon to Rocky’s Pizza, a long-time supporter of Clayton State athletics.

Cash is accepted as well as checks. All checks can be made out to the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. All proceeds will benefit the local Georgia & Alabama Chapter of Make-A-Wish.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions by providing them with an experience that is both wonderful and meaningful for the child and the child’s family. The local chapter, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Georgia and Alabama, grants more than 300 wishes each year to such children and their families.
